What is an EPC Rating?
In the UK, an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) holds legal validity as a document that furnishes an energy efficiency rating for a property. This rating, presented on a scale from A to G, assesses the property's running costs. The evaluation considers both the inherent energy efficiency of the property and the performance of its services, including heating, lighting, hot water, and more. The resulting rating reflects the overall energy performance of the property.
EPCs are a legal requirement for most properties in the UK, with a few exemptions such as listed buildings.
An EPC Survey for Landlords
Whether you're a homeowner or a Landlord, an EPC assessment can be extremely beneficial to consider booking in. As a Landlord, you have obligations to follow and without a good EPC rating, your investment could be harder to rent out. Your EPC certificate must be renewed every 10 years, so whether you are looking to renew the certification or simply an overview of the performance of your property, this is a great service to choose.
Choose a Smart NRG EPC Assessment
Our surveying professionals bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to every EPC evaluation, ensuring a thorough and accurate analysis of your property's energy performance. Smart NRG can conduct thorough investigations that collect property data/information such as room dimensions, insulation levels, heating systems and amount of glazing to provide an overview of your energy efficiency.
Upon completion of the assessment, we provide you with a detailed EPC report that not only includes your property's current energy efficiency rating on the A-G scale but also offers insights into the current factors influencing the rating. We will contact the customer with some ideas for improvement which will then be passed on to a retrofit co-ordinator to assess the recommendations and whether they are safe to do so.
